The KitchenAid brand was born in 1919, named for the now iconic stand mixer.

Initially, a Hobart Corporation engineer was inspired after seeing a baker mix dough, and thought there must be a better way of doing the task. The mixer first was marketed to U.S. Navy battleships. Later, 10-quart models were given to the wives of factory executives at Hobart's Troy Metal Products subsidiary in Springfield, Ohio, and one said "I don't care what you call it, but I know it's the best kitchen aid I've ever had!"

The KitchenAid Stand Mixer goes beyond baking — with 10 speeds and more than 12 available attachments, the mixer can whip up pasta, ice cream, sausage, salsa and more.
