Happy April 1st!



As a person who values ordinary time it is hard for me to toot my own horn.

Today is a a personal celebration for me. It was 25 years ago, April 1st that I signed on that impossibly scary dotted bank line and purchased this ionic store from my Dad, John.


As in every generation, challenges present themselves, 9-11, recession, the passing of both my parents, Covid, next door construction of the Katz building and streetcar, tariffs, and the absolute institution of Amazon.

These are not easy obstacles to maneuver, yet they SIGNAL and CREATE reason to appreciate your local small businesses.

Pryde’s is listed #7 oldest in the US of Independent Houseware retailers!
This ranking was built on the shoulders of my family and longtime lovely coworkers. 

Two fun facts about ME, since I am celebrating today!

1- I have had the same job since I was 8 years old, now celebrating my 44th year full time! My first job was making bows.

.

2- My favorite ice cream is vanilla. My six children lovingly tease me and my standard answer is “simple is solid.”
